Congratulations to all BVA members for another great Beaver Valley Artists Annual Juried Show!! On April 20th, 2011 the annual election of BVA officers was held. Call for Artists -- The Midland Arts Council will hold their annual juried art exhibition from June 27 thru July 4, 2011, at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, Midland Ave, Midland, PA. The 8th Annual Student Art Exhibit Atelier De Begley -- will be held at the Merrick Gallery, Sunday, March 20th, 2011, 1 to 5 PM. This exhibit introduces the art work of the students of Carol Volz Begley, PSA. There will be refreshments and chamber music. A painting by Carol Begley will be raffled off with the proceeds benefiting the Beaver Memorial Library and the Merrick Free Art Gallery. This exhibit has been planned and organized by Carol's senior students for all the students, some seniors of which are using this exhibit as their senior high school project. The event is free and open to the public.

The Merrick Art Gallery Associates are proud to present RETROSPECTIVE... a selection from the Merrick's Contemporary Works. Saturday Art Classes at the Merrick Art Gallery -- Dates are Oct. 18th, 25th, Nov. 1st, 8th and 15th. 2008. Children's regular classes will be from 9:30-11:30am, cost $55.00 per student (includes all materials) Each week will feature a different art medium such as painting, drawing, print-making, sculpture and hand-built pottery. Ages 5-12.

Children's Wheel-thrown pottery class will be from 12 noon to 2pm. Cost $55.00 per student (includes all materials) Age 9-12.

Call for Artists -- Sweetwater is seeking artists to display their wears at its 15th annual Holiday mART. The benefits of selling your work at Holiday mART are: There is no table fee, just a one time submission fee of only $10.00 Commissions: Sweetwater 40% artist 60%. Artists only need to inventory their work online, label it, and drop it off or mail it to Sweetwater. The artists do not have to be at the sale -- the entire process is streamlined and efficiently run by dedicated Holiday mART volunteers. Sale runs from Nov. 28th through Dec. 6th, 2009. Pittsburgh Society of Artists New Member Screening -- Saturday October 25th, 2008, at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Simmons Hall, 6300 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232. Drop off time:12:00 - 1:00 pm, Pick-Up time:3:00 - 4:00 pm. Present three(3) gallery ready(framed) pieces of art completed within the last two years. Both two or three-dimensional pieces are acceptable. Memberhip dues for the PSA are $40 per year.

Thursday September 11th, 2008, 7 pm -- BVA presents a demonstration in plein air oil painting techniques, by well-known artist, Bud Gibbons, at the Merrick Gallery.

Thursday November 13th, 2008, 7 pm. -- BVA presents a watercolor demonstration by Pittsburgh artist, Ron Thurston, at the Merrick Gallery.

Thursday March 12th Program: Bill Vrscak will be demonstrating his landscape painting watercolor technique.
