Cynthia Weidner

I am a self taught Abstract Expressionist known for my use of color and texture with a motto of “Color outside the lines.”  I’m sure that’s why abstract art is so appealing to me. My inner feelings as a artist is best described by Picasso - “Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.”

I enjoy working with acrylics, metallic’s, pigmented powder, variegated leafing and textured paper. My paintings encompass several different styles Geometrics, Impressionism but my most fulfilling work is Abstract Expressionism. I believe that’s why I can relate to the “Fauvists” such as Matisse because of their desire to work outside the box. I can’t foresee where my style may go in the future although I have to say I’m having a lot of fun with it.
