Sept. 11th, 2009, Friday -- BVA Meeting, 7 pm, at the Merrick Gallery -- David Ludwick will demonstrate pastel painting.

Mr. Ludwick has over thirty years experience in fine arts education and administration. He is a faculty member of Butler County Community College where he teaches studio classes in drawing, painting, sculpture, history and design. He is the recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Scholar Award 2004.

His work is represented in the permanent collections of many colleges and universities as well as corporate and private collections.

“As a visual artist, I enter into a relationship with my subject, usually nature, and my viewer. My role is to interpret and to some degree edit the subject while conveying my impression of the theme to the viewer. The materials that I prefer to use in this process are either soft pastels, crayons or oil paint.”
